Prayer for Our Planet

Merciful Father, I praise and glorify You for creating a universe that is infinite in its splendor, complexity, and design. Ours is an unfathomable planet, the true mysteries of which defy all description and understanding. I implore You to be with us now, in our hour of greatest need. I beseech You to extend Your loving and healing arms over the imperiled waters of Your divine creation and restore it to peace. Heal its soul with the breath of Your life.

I confess to You that we have taken all for granted. I humble myself before You to ask Your forgiveness. It surely alarms You that we desecrate the waning natural resources of our planet for personal profit. It undoubtedly disturbs You that we decimate Your precious species to the verge of extinction, in often cruel and merciless ways. It must certainly confound You that we strip Your natural and God-given habitats, leaving ungodly and unsustainable substitutes in their wake. Because You are slow to anger, Father, I come before You in grateful hope. I petition You to restore our world in the way that You envisioned it, with infinite goodness for all, and a powerful faith and devotion to You.
