United Nations General Assembly and Environmental Programmes
Since the UN’s first meeting on climate change in 1995, the UN and the Member States have put forth multilateral efforts to arrest global warming. Yet, negative environmental variables impact our planet at a rate that threatens its health and survival. The UN has issued 17 Sustainable Development Goals to transform our world by 2030. Unfortunately, these laudable efforts may remain unaddressed unless global citizens take drastic but necessary steps to ensure the viability of life on Earth. Only a joint effort by all of Earth’s inhabitants, acting in cooperation, can achieve peace and restoration of our planet. If we could make that happen, we would realize the UNs 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
Another major factor hampering progress is the absence of universal solid faith and reliance on God, humanity’s most potent ally. In times of severe adversity, nations have called upon God’s healing hand and remembered that all things are possible with Him. Man needs to be reconnected to the omnipotent Source of all things, regardless of faith, yet he has relegated God’s place to a peripheral position in world affairs. We fail to allow that God among us may currently be our answer. In the history of the world, can another Force stop the rains, calm the winds, or send plagues on the earth?
The resource I propose is a book that addresses Earth’s most threatening problems and offers actionable solutions to them. Its approach establishes God’s presence among us through prayers which address industries that can solve the most complex issues we face. Examples of these are corporate agriculture, IBM’s supercomputer Watson, water engineers, and many other specialists.
Plastic reuse vendors, arborists, 3-D printing companies, guardians of the international monetary supply, and others have their place in the common-sense approach to our world’s most potent dilemmas. In addition, solutions to various social issues, including inequality, race and gender discrimination, violent rhetoric, and human rights violations, are also explored.
We have urgent and decisive actions to take to preserve life on Earth for future generations. The only time we have to act is now.
