The High Road

Merciful Heavenly Father, I trust You to fill my

impatient soul. Counsel me with Your tender enlightenment

that I may transcend the ordinary cares of this world.

Keep my thoughts elevated high, up in the divine realms,

that I may dwell beside and serve You. There, where You

peacefully and magnificently reside, where the streets

glisten with quiet gold, and the joyful sun is hushed with

sapphire hues before You, may I stand a faithful and firm-

footed navigator. With Your constant attendance, may I

fear not, as I make my way along the High Road that You

have set before me. Steer and steady my beautiful course

that I may expertly and freely glide, that I may sweetly

and nobly prevail amid life’s most daring and glorious

adventures! With Your powerful hands protect me! See to it

that we are not separated, as I sail along toward

eternity’s high and distant shore.
